“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8

For many years, a group of us had been disciplining Pastors and church leaders in Jamaica and Kenya when I noticed that the materials we were using were expensive, and most Pastors could not afford them. I asked God for teaching materials that I could duplicate and distribute at little or no cost.
In February 2010, my quiet times grew longer, and the Holy Spirit began speaking to me about a new Bible study. I realized that God was answering my prayer and showing me scriptures I could print and distribute to others. A pattern formed rather rapidly creating the structure for this discipleship study.
On my next trip overseas, I shared the first illustration, the hand, with a youth Sunday school class. Then in the fall of 2010, I began using The Way of the Lord, the name later changed to, “The Way I Should Go”, discipleship materials in the United States and Kenya.
When I returned to Kenya in May 2011, I taught two Pastor’s workshops using the main principles and activities included in this study. The study was mainly an outline with lots of notes. In May-June 2012 with the first edition completed I traveled to India to teach two Pastor conferences.

The study has been added to and adjusted over the years since.
